Default Transfer for a co.uk domain

    Hi,
I have already registered a co.uk domain with UKREG beginning of November 2005 (registered for 2 years).
I've recently built a web-site with Blue Voda, which is indeed a pleasure to work with and I am ready to publish.
I have already registered with VodaHost and paid for the yearly subscription.

However, I have only just realised that I won't be able to publish until a number of adminstrative tasks are carried out. I need to work fast, as this is for my business which is literally about to go live in the next few days.

I have several burning questions :
    1) MUST I absolutely transfer my domain from UKREG to Vodahost?

    2) I have just discovered the 9.95USD transfer fee. If I transfer, will I have to pay additional money for my existing domain 2-year registration?

    3) Will the 60 day rule transfer rule stop me from publishing my web-site?
I need to know now if I have to find a temporary web-page solution until the domain transfer has been carried out.

    4) What do I have to communicate to UKREG for the transfer to be carried out?

    5) Is there a monthly/weekly deadline for applying for a transfer?

    6) MUST I change the UKREG name servers to ns3.vodahost.com and ns4.vodahost.com?

looking forward to receiving your reply

The simplest and FASTEST solution to avoid hassles is to keep your domain at
123reg and just upadate your name servers to ours. Within 6-12 hours of you
updating your name servers, your domain name will be active on our servers.

Transfering UK domain names are a real pain. The Queen likes to keep them.

Thank you for your speedy reply.
Another question - a dumb one I believe:
If I keep my domain with UKREG and update the name servers (already done),
will I still have to create a Vodahost domain account ?

When publishing I understand I have to use servers :
    ns3.vodahost.com 70.86.138.226
    ns4.vodahost.com 70.86.138.227

However, which user and password am I suppose to use?
    regards

No, you know longer need a VodaHost Domains account. But you will need a VodaHost
webhosting account. If you joined VodaHost after November 27, 05 your name servers
    are........

    ns5.vodahost.com >> 70.86.224.210
    ns6.vodahost.com >>
    70.86.224.211

Exclamation Re: Transfer for a co.uk domain

Again thank you so much for the reply.

I am having a publishing problem, with message 12014 which talks about password.

    a) Does the username correspond to the email address I supplied when I paid my vodahost subscription or is it something else?
I get the feeling that I have already defined a number of email/usernames since I started to communicate with vodahost and am somewhat confused.
Is there a place I can go to get my user and password re-sent to me?

    b) I verifed the name server for my current registrant UKREG. I used
    ns3.vodahost.com
    ns4.vodahost.com
I did not however configure the IP address, assuming that the above would suffice.
You mentionned that the name server depends on the date of joining. Well, in my case, I downloaded Blue Voda before the 27th of november 2005 and paid my subscription on the 4th of december.

    Many Thanks
    dolcevit
