Hi adele Sounds like you need to adjust your computers settings to allow blue voda ... or try redownloading and installing blue voda on your new laptop that you are working on ... download blue voda here Once you have blue voda working on your new laptop you will have to bring the files from your prior laptop to this new laptop A couple of choices, dependent on how many files etc., you have to move. 1. Email those from one computer to the next .. save your .bvp files inside of your MYDOCUMENTS/BLUEVODA (and any other folder inside that you might create for the given domain). 2. You will also need to email any photos, images that you have inserted on the page .. 3. You will need to rebuild and put your page together on the new laptop as well .. you will receive a shell so to speak of the .bvp file by mail and you will reinsert images, and any shapes you may previously have used in creating your page .. 4. Or use any other method you have available to you to copy your files from one computer to the other ..

Well, if you do not have any other method of getting your files, you can download your images from your file manager or ftp manager, you will need to build your pages again by the sounds of it ... you can import your pages via the import method but you will need to make adjustments to your pages, not all elements come through and any navigation menus that you used will import as images, so dependent on the elements you used on the pages will depend how much changes you will need to make to those ... to import open a new blank page go to file new page from exisiting html type the full url into the box TICK remote on the internet Your page will import for you and you will see what needs adjustment. You will then resave the page by the name you previously had given it and republish from this computer.

When you finish, we will look for your expert advice, you will have plenty with this venture .. good luck, take your time, remember your website is still live and kicking so unless you are having to make changes to any pages, you have as much time as you need.

Hi Adele There is not need to start again, but if you wanted to you could of course. To find out what the pages are called, Open up your domain on the internet, as you move from page to page of your website - take note of the addresss that appears in the address bar ... you will notice http://www.nameofyourdomain.com/nameofpage.html You will see the name of the page in the url ... so this is the url that you will import for all pages ... you can go page by page on the internet, and copy and paste this page url into blue voda and bring your pages in remotely this way as previously discussed .... If your domain has been around for a bit and you have gained any ranking with google, etc., you are not going to want to rename pages ... so something to consider ... Also, if you start deleting your website you will have no where to draw the contents from - images etc. .. since you have no backup .. or at least that is how I understand it ... If you totally did want to start fresh, let us know .. we can tell you what can be done to delete files that are in your file manager ... but won't tell until you have really decided that this is best for you .. :) To cure your bottom control functions within the web builder, please download and reinstall the latest version of blue voda If this does not help, and your computer is blocking things, please add www.bluevoda.com to your list of allowable websites in your firewall ...

Hi Adele, Those buttons on the bottom of BV for Cpanel etc, won't work until you open a new blank page or an existing page first. So just to make sure...... Open BV, select OPen Blank Page. Once that is opened, click on Cpanel at the botton. Hope that helps, Rick |

if your first laptop is still not opening, take it to your local pc shop and ask them to download the information from it's hard drive, they should be able to give you the info on disc then you can copy the folders into your new pc. this process will involve them removing the hard drive from your old laptop to do this and will cost a few pennies but will be worth it. also once you have done this when you open a bv page you may notice that some images are not showing. this is because that route to the images has changed you just need to browse to find were it is to reload. |
