Thread: Download area.

Hello.

I would like to create a download area where people will be able to download files using personal access (e.g password, username). Please assist with detailed instructions.

There is a simple way: create a password protected folder (look at the relevant tutorial at http://www.vodahost.com/demowolf/cpa...2_protect.html )

The only disadvantage is that you need to manually create the usernames / passwords

Otherwise you need a log in script. Have a look at http://www.dbtechnosystems.com/idc.php

Also, search the net for free or paid for log in scripts

If you are going to use a password protected directory you can either not create an index and it will list all of the files in the directory, or create an index and link to all of the files

Also the login script in my sig will allow users to register their own accounts for a password protected directory so you wouldn't have to create them manually
