I have created the first couple of pages of my site. On the Kalkan page I have created rollover images to make a top manu bar to link to the sub pages. these links work when I preview the site but not on the published site. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong. My Domian is www.Kalkandelights.co.uk Thenks in advance, Nick |

What did you use to build the menu bar? If with BV- then you should be able to double click on it to get to the properties menu and then input your links. Andy

I cannot see any links when I use the rollovers. Double check to make sure that you have linked the buttons.

Hey all, I just came on here today to post this EXACT same issue. I haven't updated my site in a while and had to do so today and after the update and re-published page, the rollover button links I have for my menu are not working. I figured I'd post here rather than start a new thread. For anyone that wants to see what I'm talking about - here's my site: http://www.georgehester.com/start.html Notice the menu on top, when you rollover them they glow and stuff... yeah it works as the cursor identifies it as a link by changing from the arrow to the hand pointer (on my PC). If you click on the "Portfolio" tab, it'll take you to the page, but the menu bar is no longer working. I checked and double checked everything. The only solution I can assume is it having to do with going from BV9 to BV10, which I did just a week or so ago. I did check the links on the rollover buttons. I know how to do this stuff and it's all the same as it was before. Is there some sort of "new" setting with the new version of BV that I need to change/adjust? |

Hester- The only thing that I can think of is that the two menus are in conflict - i.e.......one code set is cancelling the other or taking president. Could the new BV10 be duplicating code somehow and nameing elements the same? I did notice that the begining of the java script and the end are both </script> I thought that one was supposed to be <script> and the end </script>???????? ...........just my thought Andy

I've double checked the links etc. But it does seem to be a problem with publishing the site as the links show up in preview. I realise I Could just use the standard Nav bar, but really liked the look of the shadow text. Also if I just use a single image instead of the rollover image the links work fine. Is there another way to achive this and keep the shadowed text.

You are publishing thru the web builder and not ftp ing the pages?

No, you must publish a .bvp page thru the web builder. Making sure that you weren't using the FTP method.

Change your "Hot LinK" protection and see if that helps.

I've now managed to get this working by using individual navbars to replace the rollover images. However, from some other posts it looks like it is a problem with the latest software upgrade. If the probelm is fixed then I may go back to the rollover inages as they are easier to set up. Would the roll over images also load quicker than the individual nav bars?

I suppose the text isn't as important when it comes to the menu, but for me and the way my layout is designed, the buttons are essentially built in to the layout. Now that I think of it... maybe there IS a way I can set it up to be like my rollover buttons... but using the nav bars. :) I'll try it out and see what I can do. Maybe I can use the images for the rollover (images WITH the text rather than type any text) and set them up individually?? I'll give that a shot and get back with you. |

Okay... I can confirm a temporary solution (because I don't want to go through all 20+ pages of my site doing this) that you can just set individual nav bars set as the rollover images with links and it works. I didn't try with a larger image rollover, but with my menu page here: Portfolio - I fixed the "about" button by moving those two images to the 'navbar' folder in my C:\BlueVoda and deleted the default text, set the link address and published it. (the other nav buttons on that page still don't work because I didn't fix them yet). Great find angus!! :) Now I can at least get this one page working until whatever bug gets fixed in BV10. |
