Thread: Question about BV and publishing

Hi there!

I have my pages published, but during publishing BV locked up and totally stopped responding. After I got BV to shut down, I had to reboot my PC to get the program running again. It doesn't do it everytime, more like 1 in 5, but it can be a real hassle when it happens. Is this a PC problem, or a BV problem and I need to download the program again?

Also, I can only publish 2, sometimes 3, pages before the pages time out while being published. (This is publishing 1 page at a time) Now, I use dial up which is a real headache but it's all I have... any suggestions for avoiding the time outs?

I did go into tools/options/publish and increased the connections timeout to 360 and it didn't seem to make any difference.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

The only possible reason I can see for this is that you have some very huge
content on the page or computer problems....How heavy is your page?

Ya know, the funny thing is, the lock ups can (and have) occured on the pages where there really isn't anything listed but a "Coming Soon" text box, and our standard background, navigational buttons, etc... I haven't seen a common link to say "Yeah, all these pictures are bogging down the system", know what I mean? Same goes for the time outs... it doesn't matter what the contents are, but you can safely bet that if I've managed to upload 3 pages, the 4th will time out before it's even 1/4 done.

I have absolutely no problems with the program, other than during publishing... and I admit, it has me confused!

Don't know...could be your internet connection, your computer, Karma, etc....
