I was just wondering when we publish our website with you, we will be using your server right? We already have our own server . I was wondering is it possible to use our server to host our website with you at the same time?

We probably dont need to use our own server. Its just something I thought of as a precaution just in case in a freak event your servers go down or something like that.

1) Your server is more likely to go down than ours
2) A website can only be hosted on one server at a time due to the DNS.
What you can do is maintain a full back up of your website on your server.
This way in case of a ......"freak event" you will have a full backup.......
But we backup daily anyway...

By server we usually mean a machine capable of working 24 hours a day, 365/365 days a year. These are machines usually built with very severe specifications, and usually not vey much "pushed". To hold a full backup of your site you can simply use a desktop computer as well. Vodahost provides daily backup, so should something go really wrong, as soon as they fix the hardware problem, they will restore your site as it was at the moment of the last backup. So, keeping a backup on your machine would maybe save you the last day updates that you might probably have done.
So backup is useful but not critical

Always back up everything....from your website...to stuff on your home
pc..Never leave anything to faith.....We also do offsite back ups to London,
England....

A back up server is a bit extreme...just keep copies on your local pc and on CD.

Ok thanks. Another question is concerning monitoring software. Since we are affiliated to more than 50 merchants is it possible to use monitoring software on your server so we can check the traffic going through our websites?

Well this is the thing I dont know that much about servers or monitoring software or exactly what it will involve. At this moment im doing research.

Not exactly we dont want to monitor 50 other servers we want to use monitoring software to monitor the traffic on our sites. My understanding of monitoring software is that you need a server to use it on, since you are hosting our websites we would have to use the monitoring software on your server.

Ok so the question is.....Can we use monitoring software on your server to monitor the traffic on OUR websites.
