Thread: Background color change script?

Hello,
I am making a website that will display paintings.
I would like to have a script that will change the color of the background point and click.

For instance you come to a page and in the middle is a picture( photo )
On the side of the is a slider or simply a rectangular with rbg colors at which user will point and click. When user clicks the background color changes ,everything else is intact.

It would be best if colors would only change an area of a window like 400x500 pixel size?
There are some scripts but nothing like I am looking for.

Hi, there is easy ways to just change a whole page background or similar using iframes. But to change just an area is a little more involved. Some will know how to change something like a tables or a Div's background, but i can only do this with images if any help. Try this link.
Naturally this can be any size.

i have tried this tip and seem to be missing something along the way. i think this is a tip that could be used by many people when making sites or commercials.
i have made the first page with special backgrounds and the link is:

i have made the web page and the link is:

now i understand by using your script, the link to my background is incorrect, but how would i change your script so the link would work to my background?
the second question is how do i position the special backgrounds on a page with the icons. in my case i just made the page 1300 pixels wide to accommodate the 4 backgrounds that i made. how do i save the background page.
again, i think this is a great trick and we could have a little fun with this, so i you could expand your instructions a bit, i would appreciate your help.

Hi, this code is not to do with changing the page background, it is purely for placing an image behind another to change the background/boarder of an existing image.
The only ones I can see about have limitations. IE:………
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex3/document1.htm wont work in FF.
You can also do this with a CSS switcher.

But what you are asking for I don’t think is possible with this one.

hello Chris; i didnt want to change the page backgroud, but now that i see the effect i think that would work as well. i wanted to use the different backgrounds behind mrmagoo picture. sorry if i didnt explain properly.
So again, i have 4 different picture backgrounds 300 x 300 and i have 4 icons representing the different picture backgrounds. how do i marry them together

Not sure if you see whats going on. Any of the scripts do not have anything to do with any image that is on the page, (IE: MR Magoo). It is purely placing another image behind the one that is already there as per 1st link

Nice one! have added this to my favorites. Haven't seen this one at dynamic before.
Not sure on the install as i cant find the instructions. (Even in the down load)

I was playing with it and description says to refer to HTML file but I do not see one .
Either way, is it possible to combine the script in your example with a color picker script together , to archive the effect you can see in the example I have sent ?

No joy I'm afraid! I can get it to work on a BV page, but its showing up quite a bit different in IE to FF & this part i cant solve..
