Question Newbie - Template & Site question

    Hello everyone,
I'm so thrilled to have found BluVoda and I look forward to being a part of this community.

    This is my question:

I am very much a newbie and I have started going through the tutorials. I want to build a website where I can offer resources and advertising options for wahms (work at home moms and women).

~I already have my domain, purchased it a while back somewhere else.
I will offer advertising spaces on my site for example:
    buttons 125 x 125 (size) and banners 468 x 60

Here is the sample site I like:
www [dot] betweenmoms [dot] com [insert period where dot is]

    1. Do I need to have BluVoda host it my domain name?
    2. Should I use a template or can I build from scratch? Here is a similar website that I'd like to model mine after:

www [dot] betweenmoms [dot] com [insert period where dot is]

    3. What is my next step? Thank you all in advance for taking the time to answer my questions.

As your first sample site was created using frontpage
then by using BlueVoda you could accomplish pretty much the same sort of site.
You need to host any BV(bluevoda) built site with Vodahost.

Open an account(you could get another domain name at the same time, if you wished,(its free).

Take the royal tour to find out more details (icon at top of this page)

good luck and welcome to the voda family.........................

You could use the domain name that you have already purchased as your main account/website and use the free one later...........(only free at time of opening an account)

    David,
Thank you so much for replying. I will do what you suggested. Also, are there people here who can build a site for me such as the example I gave? I want to learn to build my sites, but since I need to get a site up and running quickly, I think it would be great if I had someone experienced that could do this for me. I'm sure it will take me much longer to build than an experienced person.

I considered replying to your other post, but I believe that you could do this yourself........whats the rush.

You dont have to complete a whole website to be noticed/indexed by the search engines.

A well thought out and well designed home/index page could start you off as long as you have the complete concept in your mind to start with.

And yes, we have several approved freelance designers that you could use.

I appreciate the vote of confidence. I am confident in my ability to do my own site. I am a business person and with that comes the experience to know that time is leverage. I have customers that have contacted me regarding another business that I have that would like to advertise...thus the timing constraints...do you understand?

I will keep searching to see if I can find someone that is willing to help me get on with my project.

    Thanks anyway.
