    Question Affiliate HTML code visible on newly published page

    www.jsm-international.com

    Hi,

    I realised that my pages were too wide for some people to view, so I have started redesigning my pages, starting with the index page.

    When I published my new index page, the HTML code http://www.vodahost.com/partner/idevaffiliate.php..................

    is visible at the top of the page.

    the new page is www.jsm-international.com/index_new.html.

    Can someone please have a look at it to see if I have accidently messed up the HTML code?

    All of the elements I have on the new page are included on the current page www.jsm-international.com/index.html and that works fine.

    Thanks

    You have your affilliate code and a script code OUTside your document header(shown below:

    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
    <html>
    <head>

    Thanks for the advice!

    I have moved the coding, but the affiliate line is still showing at the top of the published page.

    I have refreshed the page using multiple F5.

    This is not a vaild VodaHost Affiliate HTML code/link, and even if you are constructing your pages in PHP, it should always be coded as supplied (and as currently visible on your BV banner link at the bottom of your Index page) as: http://www.vodahost.com/partner/idevaffiliate.php?id=11260_1_1_65

    If you are using Blue Voda to make your site, the reason you see code "float" on your pages is because these dynamic Affiliate Links are meant to produce a specific image along with the ID link, and the code needs to be pasted into a "HTML box" within the BV page itself, not pasted into any Tabs in Page HTML.

    Think of the "HTML box" as 'containing' the code so it has a defined shell in which to perform the action it is required, and without being 'contained' it will not know where to refer, or what to perform for.

    That good html box advice will also include the script that you have outside your page html.

    Thank you

    The offending code is now in its proper place.

    Every bit of knowledge takes me closer to understanding - but after every hilltop there's another one waiting.

    Have a great day!
