Thread: Error Message when Piblishing a page

I have a new page that I want to publish. It is longer than my normal page (this one is 3155), but I don't think that is too long - anyway, when I try to publish it, I do not get the publishing blue bar and after about 10 minutes, I receive this message in a small box in the centre of the screen

Right&t of Selection.

Please, can anyone help me identify what I am being told is wrong?

How's your firewall? Not always, but sometimes the firewall will prevent you from publishing. Also, when was the last time you published successfully?

something else that you might need to do is tune up your computer. CCleaner (FREE) just might help you with this. Most of us forget to do this, but if you are using your computer to do web design, it's really necessary to run some kind of tune up software at least once a month.

Firstly, I'm sorry about my spilling....

I tested that I can still publish other pages and I've run CCleaner, but this page refuses to publish, in fact when I tried it after doing the above after 5 minutes the computer rebooted.

Unless anyoner can come up with anything else for me to try, I'm going to dissect the page and publish it bit by bit, building it up as I go until I find out what is causing the problem.

copy/past 50% of that page to a new page, test if able to publish OK.
If OK the fault lies in the bottom 50%............

repeat for the bottom 50%.........you will find it quicker that way.

OK Guys,

I've isolated it to the final right hand column in a table. When I deleted the column, the problem disappeared and I can now publish the page.

The column was empty, I had not put anything into it as yet as it was for future use.

I'll add a column to replace it, but not yet. Its working now and I can get on with the designing.
