Font Back Ground Color

Thank to all who respond

I want to have a clear background color for the fonts I use (so that the colors of the web page template can be seen). However, the background color always appears to be white. I have tried resetting the background color but nothing helps.

Any suggestions?

right click on text box (opens properties)
background - colour - automatic

Thanks for the help. The background color was set to automatic and I tried to reset it, but text still has a white background.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

menubar has 2 icons for colour:
1 for text colour
the other for background

select your text then click the righthand one and
reset background.
