Hi, Due to a loss of data from my hard drive, I am in the unfortuntate position that my published live website pages are newer versions than my saved pages , so I was wondering how I can overcome this please and get the published pages saved so that I can work onthem and update them ? I have not dabbled much in the BV control panel so please make any instructions fairly simple to follow ! |

Use the import from website function as shown in these visual tutorials here: or view the video tutorial on how to import a page here. |

David thank you but I am still having problems; I imported my website page by following the instructions on your site and saved it to my folder in BV website builder but there are two problems; 1. The page is missing the navigation buttons for some reason, although the web version looks and still works fine. 2. Any alterations I make to the page just do not show up when I publish even though it says published sucessfully. I have cleared my cache and have the latest version of BV and refreshed my pages but can't get it to work. Unfortunately the second link you posted seems to come up with a message that the service will be unavailable for 90 mins, but it has been like that now since last night, so I can't try anything else. Any ideas of what the problem is please ? Last edited by PaulP; 11-09-2008 at 11:02 AM. Reason: spelling check |

Importing from the web will get most of your pages back, but some items are specific to Vodahost and will not be imported. You have to create the nav menu again. That 2nd link is only a rehash of what was explained in the first link and its still not available yet, so dont worry about it. If you have a lot of pages then you can use your file manager in your Cpanel and download all the html and other files and then import them from your own computer off-line. |

Ok thankyou for the explanation. I still cannot see why my pages won't publish, which seems to be a seperate issue ? If I make any changes to any of the pages on my website and publish them the changes are not showing up even though I am getting a "sucessfull published" message. What is happening...? If it's any significance, after a long absence I had support send me a new named server to log into (as the old one was no longer listed) but this seems to be ok and I can log into my cp and publish OK. I have also the latest version of BV. Should I start a new thread about the publishing problem? |

Dont start a new thread just yet, lets see what we can do here: As you can login to your Cpanel and you get the successful published messages then your new server info is OK. Are you using the publish all files in the dropdown publishing box ?¿ Give me a link and one or two changes that you have made to a page. |

Hello David and thank you for your continued help. Yes I am making sure that "publish all files" is selected when I publish. I have made a small change to the wording on the following page, where I have added the text " preferred method" after the words in black text "Method 2" in the right hand box under the photo. I have also added an updated zip file to the button marked Demo in the same box. http://www.direct2view.com/live_views.html If it helps, my Direct2view website is an add on domain and I have just noticed that any changes I maketo my primary website (www.punchardrenovation.com) seem to work ok, so the issue seems to be with the www.direct2view.com site only? |
