Thread: OK, from the top, I am really confused...please help!

OK, I purchased BV to host my webisite...goodrichgraphics.com (check) lol

Here's what I want to do:
1. Build an ecommerce site whereas customers can purchase both screenprinted clothing (custom & pre-made), and signage. I imagine a site with about 100 products or so.

I have the following assumptions:
I can use Bluevoda to build my site, and link it to oscommerce for the store portion...correct?

I can use Soholaunch to build my site and link it to oscommerce?

I can simply use oscommerce to build my site?

I thought this was going to be simple, but obviously I was wrong. This is really confusing.

Can someone lead me to a retail site that was built and hosted through one of these so I might see how the entire project might work?

Of the choices above it would be much easier to build your site in SOHOLAUNCH totally or Use paypal buttons (or mals ecart, cart manager) with blue voda. For a beginner its not wise to try to mix and match programs.

Soholaunch is a stand alone cart. OScommerce is a stand alone cart. You would never MIX these two.

The problem is that soho doesn't have very many templates. I have to build it from scratch?

Soho has almost a thousand templates between what is installed and what you can install or buy. Simply SEE more templates in the template manager.

It also has a template BUILDER which will build a basic COLOR /sidebar/header layout. You also have the option of doing SPLASH pages which can be coded to do just about ANYTHING you want

As said, Soholaunch and osCommerce are independent shopping cart foundatons, and not intended to be "mixed" with each other or anything Blue Voda.

Soholaunch (as well as osCommerce) have a selection of Templates with differing page layouts, and you can further "customize" these templates by changing the colors, borders, headers, etc. to meet more of your desired theme.

There are in fact hundreds more Premuim Templates to choose from for osCommerce than is available for Shohlaunch, but Soholaunch has the ability to be User-configured more easily that osCommerce, so this explains why there is a smaller selection for Soholaunch.

If you want a 100% customized look-and-feel for Soholaunch, it is extremely affordable to outsource to a Certified Soholaunch Developer (who often include such elements as dynamic Menu systems and more), and is often the simplest solution to making your Soholaunch cart emerge just as you envisioned.
