Thread: Main Page published but error on all other linked to index??

I am so excited I just published my website, however, when I publish the links off my main page and click them from my main page an error comes up. I tried saving as html, php & bvp??
What am I doing wrong? Thank you so much for any help

You are so excited that you forgot to show/post your website address/URL so that we could take a look...........

Two things...

1. Don't save any of your pages with any extension at all. Blue Voda will add the .bvp to the files as they are saved to your computer and the .html as they are saved to the server. Remove any extensions, save again and republish all pages. The links that you write, however, DO need to have the extention added by you. For example, a link from your index page might say "wwwdotmysite/mypageone.html.

2. Always post your web address so we can better see what the trouble might be.

I did exactly as told and the pages will not show still. This is the error message
Not Found

The requested URL /free-stuff.html was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

So you created, saved and published a page called "free-stuff"--no extension, lowercase, etc?

When I can't figure something out, I usually try again with the simplest way possible. In your case I'd open up a blank page in BV, create something super simple and save it and publish it as "testpage" BTW, you are using the publish icon, correct? Don't try to FTP anything.

Then I'd look for http://www.myijot.com/testpage.html on the web.

Maybe it's just me, but hyphens in an address make me nervous. Underscores are OK.

I changed all to underscores and re-published with the icon and still nothing. Can't even get a test page to show. Only the main index.

I just did another test page. I saved it as test and it published???? I took out all underscores now and still my pages won't publish??

If you have taken the good advice given above then

as long as the above was published to your public_html directory/folder !!

Yeah, that worked--I can see it. There's some simple solution to the rest, probably, but at this point your guess is as good as mine. In my experience, whenever BV tells me the page was successfully published but I can't find it, it means I published it to the wrong folder. This happens when I intentionally publish to a folder (public_html/subfolder) and forget that's what I did last time. BV remembers that and publishes there next time. But if your test page published OK, then it's likely some other reason.

Try deleting all your previous .php .bvp and .html pages and republish now that you have the correct form of linking.

This is why David is five stars and I'm a minor major.

PS Delete by deleting them from the right pane of FTP Manager. That removes them from the VH server but leaves them on your hard drive--we wouldn't want you to lose everything.

If they are copy the file names with extentions (sometimes a simple missed letter is the culprit) then go into your builder, open the link property for that page and type http://www.yoursite.com/ then paste the name in there. Click file, save as, and publish. Repete this for all the links.

P.S. Replace "yoursite" with the actual name of your site.

You found my pages and I actually opened them up from your post...how do I get them to link to my page. I am confused here..LOL Thank you so much everyone for helping me. I have been working so hard on this!

Where do I find my public_html folder?

Go into your Cpanel
selct the File Manager Icon
and you should then be able to see you public_html directory.

Open those pages in your blueVoda web builder. in each page open the page properties and change the file extension box to html, then republish you may have to rename one or two pages as you have add a _ between the word. your links should find them.

Okay...I found all of the links in cpanel. Now how do I find the link property in the builder? I know I am probably frustrating, but I am truly trying here
