Thread: URGENT Privacy Settings

i have just received a email from someone telling me to change my privacy settings. They proceeded to tell me my full name and address. how can i change this?

If you mean the domain privacy settings, this is usually done with who ever you purchased your domain from. There is usually a small fee for this with many domain providers. But the majority tend not to hide this info as quite a few have many domains.

If you are going to do transactions online and sell anything.. the credit card companies make you display this info anyway. They really cant do much with your name and address as its most likely found in a phone book as well. Youd only be at issue for identity theft if they had your social security number or equivalent in another country, your cc info etc.

Ok thanks, But what is it they are clicking on to see this info, how do they access this?

Arin Who Is.. or just type in Who IS in your search bar.. several domain name lookups and ip look up utilities.
