You have to name your home page (the first page you want to be viewed) as index nothing else, no capital letters, no extensions (.html, .php, .bvp) Then when you publish it, it will go.
All browsers are set up to look for the index page when ever they enter a site, unless they are directed elsewhere.
That is why it is imperative that the first page that you publish should be the index page.
You can TITLE the page as you wish (page properties) but you MUST name and save it as index only as D'son has correctly pointed out.
The name of the page as ED explained is "index" only.
When you publish, you publish to "public_html/"
Then open your browser and type in..."yourdomain.com" or .net or .org or whatever it is.
