    Question File structure

Hello, I am new. I have searched the forums and have viewed most of the tutorials, but I cannot see the best way to set up my files. I published all my pages, and they worked perfectly, but when I look in cpanel, all the files, pictures, etc are all in the same place. It would make more sense to me if they were in separate folders, like, photos, backgrounds, pdffiles, etc. I hope this makes sense and I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Thank you. www.susangatewood.net

When you first open an account/website
you Have one main directory/folder which is your
    public_html folder
This is where everything normally goes when you publish.

There is nothing to stop you from creating other folders as you do when you start to use a new computer.

Just bear in mind that images should be in the same folder as your published page, and BV will do this for you when you publish.

    Publishing to another folder:

    1) create your new folder using BV ftp or file manager in your Cpanel
(lets assume that you have created a new folder call "products")

    2) you must now publish anything to do with products as follows:
    public_html/products
    Reminder:
Every folder should have its own index page

So now you have enough info to organise your website as you wish.

Hi this can be done using BV, & is a far better way to put your site together. But you will need some knowledge in web page building & basics in html to do this.
But 1st you should get to grips with BV & get an idea on putting a page together using BV & iron out any problems you might get with using BV. IE: Centering pages & reducing image sizes for web use. Sorting out page properties. & so on.

Ah! Super fingers David got here 1st. lol

Another way of isolating individual items belonging to certain page is as follow:
Tools - Options - Publish - Image Name Prefix box
will list every item on your pages with the page name as a prefix
so you can isolate/keep together all your page items.
