Default Multiple sites when published shows Index of/

    This is SDQ.

When I published my site it shows Index of/ and then a file list of all of the other sites I have published. Here's the domain: www.dropshipessentials.com/

If you visit the site you'll see all the other sites. They are listed as www.dropshipessentials.com/OTHERDOMAIN when you open the file.

This is the 4th site I am publishing. The other sites are fine. I have read every thread about Index of/ and multiple sites issues. There are no capital letters, the main page is named index, and there are no spaces on any of the file name pages of any of my sites.

I have published this same site to another domain I have and it shows fine under that domain. It is only when I publish it as the main domain the site was registered with that I have the problem.

I'm stumped. Any suggestions anyone? It is probably something simple but right now i'm out of ideas.

Thanks in advance for your help!

If it is going to be published to your main site did you publish it to your public_html folder only? No folder name after it.

    Hey Ed!

First off, thanks for the reply!!! Getting a couple more sets of eyes on this will surely help me.

I uploaded the file through ftp with the following ftp information: FTP Username: dropshipessentials@dropshipessentials.com (This way shows all sites in folders with the Index of/ at the top)

I also tried to upload it to the main account: FTP Username: dropship@dropshipessentials.com (This way does not show the dropship site at all but still has Index of/ at the top)

I have deleted both and re-uploaded multiple times. I'm sure it will be something easy when we figure it out but right now i've spent a couple days on this. I have about 10 sites all hosted elsewhere and I am slowly moving them over here...

Anyways, thanks a ton for your input. Have any other suggestions?

Looking at the list of files, I do NOT see the essential index file ?

You mentioned publishing in your first post, then Uploading in your reply......

Which is it?, because you PUBLISH BV files............or are you ftping your html files?

    Got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I fixed it... Don't exactly know why it worked but I will explain so it may help someone else in the future.

To get it to work I loaded the files to the main ftp given to me in my original email. I then manually went to the control panel and moved them to the public_html folder. I do not know why I could not simply load them directly to the public_html folder... that will be for another day... or year.

Thanks Ed for your help! Your comment got me to think about the source of the problem.

If these are pages you creaetd in BV you do not upload them you simply publish the pages using the icon. If they are pages made else where then yes you upload them but they have to be in the correct folders to work, public_html for your main site and public_html/sitename for the others.

    David and D'son,

I did not notice your responses until now. No, I am not using BV. I have to ftp the files so the proper term should have been uploaded in both posts.

Thanks everyone for your quick responses!

Next time make sure that you have the correct root path when you FTP.......lol

or simply use the BV ftp program to put them straight into the public_html directory.

Best of luck with your other sites.
