Thread: Please Help Me With This Link

I have created my site, but now that I have access to my control panel, im having a trouble getting around certain things, and one of does things is that I would like to take of http://jcxlabs.com/Mysite.html that part of my url, but if I take it off by going to redirect panel, I then lose my template, so how can I get a my url to just be www.jcxlabs.com and still show my full template without having that extra text on the side, please help me out, I want to launch my whole site by tonight. Hope I was specific enough, thanks in advace.

If you have done things correctly, then your template should be on your
index
page...................so rename mysite.html to
index
and republish

You can then delete that mysite page

Well to tell you the truth, im not even sure if im doing things right, because i really dont know how to put my template on my site.

You save your template as an image on your computer, then add it to your BV page using the image icon, add you elements on top of it. Then when you are done save the page as index and publish your page to your public_html

Ok is this http://www.jcxlabs.com/index.html how im suppose to change it too? because i still see the extra text and i dont want that to show i just want this part to show http://www.jcxlabs.com/ with my template on it, im sorry if im being annoying, its because im new to this, i really dont know much of creating sites.

When you publish your index (all lower case letters, no extensions) it will automatically be the first page that comes up. You will only use the URL (you provided) you do not need to add the index.html to anything including your links because it will be your home page by default. Just make sure you are publishing the pages not uploading them (two different things) there is an icon at the top of the page or click File/publish from the menu bar.

Thank you D'son, i didnt know that, one last thing though, when i want to create the pages for the sections such as my music,videos,photos sections, what do i need to save them as? and where do i publish them?

Everything gets published to your public_html folder. You can name all your other pages anything that suites the page you are creating. Use all lowercase letters, no spaces and no extensions. All your pages usually publish as an html file except if you add a form to the page then it will be published a s a php
