Thread: 404 error

Hi I have published pages and when I view in browser the home page comes up but to go to the other pages it shows the error 404 page not found I have rechecked the links think they are ok. Every time you republish does it take an additional 24 hours? Voda reset the domain name for me as www.moesguiding.net but all I get is the old site moesguiding.com that was done yesterday morning Thursday. Where can I regeister with the search engines with the new site any help on that.
Also why does the pages show up with a white background when I view them they should be black do I have a coding error somewhere?

first things first.....your .net site comes up ok, but you need to create and name and publish your first page as
index
and nothing else.......please do that right away

Ok this is done now what about the rest do I publish each page that way or what do I save them as

When I key that in the site www.moesguiding.net all I get is a index of page

Ok, it looks as if you have your index page up and your whether page, but your last 2 links are taking people away from your website, consider putting those two into an Iframe or keep them on your site.

But why is the background still white and not black??

Right click on a blank area of your page, choose page properties, back ground and change the color to black.

I have found why your having all the problems linking your pages, they are all being published as php pages. Thats fine but it means you have to change all your links. For example http://www.moesguiding.net/gallery.php
Even your home page has a php version, if you open the page in BV look at the page properties and look at the file type. You can either publish the index page as a php from here on out (wont hurt a thing) except you will have to delete the html version from your public_html folder, or as an html page and not have to worry about the other page as long as the file type in the page properties is set to html. I hope this makes sense to you.

How do I remove the index from the public_html folder and where do I find this folder? or can I just change the file type back to html from php and republish it.
Checked all the backgrounds on every page under the page properties and have clicked on the black and ok and saved still is white though now what??
