    Default Browser question

    My web site is now up and running. I asked the forum for feedback and had good reviews. One review said that the site needs to be centred on her computer, but no one else said the same.

    On my computer using IE6 and Firefox they looked good, but in work, using IE7 they need to be centred.

    Have now centred all pages, but now they look wrong on my computer.

    Please advise how to look good in ALL browsers. www.pcangelservices.co.uk

    Okey, must have been the browser since mine must be IE7. Anyhow you got a clean site. But adding images might be able to jazz it up a bit. Regards.

    You may have checked the box to center in browser, but what you did not do is to build the page starting at the top left side of the builder window. Click Edit/select all and move everyting to the top left. Then when you check the center in browser button it will center the same in all browsers. You will have to do this on all your pages, save and republish.

    Ed's quite right as the blue image starts on the page (left:188px) & should be (left:0px).

    Hi all

    Thanks for the reply. Trying to understand what you are all saying, so apologies if I have not fully understood.

    I did start from the top left corner. The Blue section on the left hand side reads 0 x 0 on my computer. Please, where did you get 188px? I must be missing something.

    I selected all, but nothing would move further left than I already have.

    Make sure that you do not have everything locked as it will not move, Edit/unlock all/select all and then move everything.

    I unlock/selected all and then tried to move.

    The generated HTML is:

    width: 800px;
    position: relative;
    margin-top: 0px;
    margin-left: auto;
    margin-right: auto;
    text-align: left;

    Hope this is of help

    This part is just the container that holds the info you pace on your BV page, then takes all the info on the page & centers it. As Ed said on a previous post, the page needs to be built from the left of your BV screen.

    Hi all.
    I have done everything that has been suggested. I have removed the full site off the web for now except for 1 page.

    Back to basics.
    As you will see, I have typed "text" in the top left corner of my page. It will not go up any further or to the left any further.
    At the bottom right of the page in the position box it is 0 x 0.
    I have also centred the browser.
    Internet Explorer 6 and Firefox are showing it about 2 inches inside the screen from the left hand side. http://www.pcangelservices.co.uk/

    OK. I think I might have sorted it. I had my page width as 800 x 1000. I extended the page to 1100 x 1000 and now it is centering in the 2 browsers on my computer. I will test it in work tomorrow to see if looks any different on Explorer 7 (unless anyone else has it).
