Thread: Type Slides Over Images Images reduced

On two computers (Windows and IE on both) my site http://www.peacoatpress.com opens well but the type (laid over forms per girlonthehill's suggestion) is compressed so the lines break differently. The blocks slide over the photo images and these are about 40% smaller than on most other computers.
I think these two are renewed pages because they contain certain changes made recently.
I think it must be in there internet settings except I can't reproduce the problem on any other site.
I'm going to provide a couple of Blue Voda developed sites and if anything happens I'll add to this thread.
If this same happens to any of you out there I'd sure like to know.

Gave 2 sites to these (now) three people having trouble with images and type flowing over each other. Cabin Candles and Girl on the
hill - both great sites with fairly large elements. All 3 reported the same problems as with my site. Have asked for their IE version info but as to possible settings - that may require travel.

Has anyone had this - and solved this-problem?

Your problem is that you have done too much with the shapes tool. You have way
too many page conflicts. Try removing a bit of stuff and re-insert it using tables.

Thanks for the advice. I pulled out most of the shapes, put in structured forms a pasted the photos and text in place. Looks ok. BUT, the index.bvp file will not overwrite the old version. It says successfully published but the old guy is still called up. I dumped my cache, cleaned the disk, republished and got the same result. True for others out here as well. Any suggestions?

Did that. No change. I did publish changes on both pgs. 2 & 3 without problems today. Just index.bvp that doen't work.

I've done it all. multiple F5s, window washer, pcTools cache erasing, new bootng and rebooting, modem reboot, IE has always been set to look for newer pages. Still get the old page when going to opeacoatpress.com. same with all my "testers".

republished (successfully) twice tonight after all of the above. Same old page in place.

If you call up the page : is it new ie. two separate buttons to go to other pages (no marque). Right column is square cornered form rather than round cornered shape: form holds text/photo/photo/text covering the author and the boat all in a line? If not, then you're getting the old page as well.

Is there a way to replace index as the opening home page if I rename the file that I want? Can we eliminate all; the files for peacoatpress.com on the server and publish all three pages from scratch?

Maybe you have saved your page as Index, because a get a page as you describe it when clicking on http://www.peacoatpress.com/Index.html. Click and see. If this is correct, reload the page in BV, save it as "index" with lowercase i and re-publish it.
