Thread: Trying to delete website

My website www.skislopes.biz has a disputed pic on it. I have discussed this with voda who took my site down. They have now reloaded it with my permission but with the disputed pic still in it.

I have deleted all the files on my website and put up a boring holding page.

Everytime I load the site on 3 dif computers I am still getting my old site back, where is it coming from?

How do I get rid of it?

Clear your browser cache and history.

what is the picture?? what is it called? log into your control panel, find the image and delete the file from inside the public_html folder, if this is your main domain, if not delete from the folder of the domain ..

unless you show us what is what we cant really say what is going on ..

you possibly have an image with the same name as the one in question and it is being overwritten ..

I have deleted ALL the files in the various dir. The only one that should be showing is a holding page. Is that the one ppl are seeing?

Hi.. I see your entire website .. are you deleting in control panel or on your computer? And what files are you deleting?? what is their extension??

.html pages are what shows in your file manager, in control panel .. these are the .bvp pages that you created on your computer ..

pictures are usually .jpg or .gif ..

I used cpanel to delete all files. My dir shows empty

hmmm .... is this your main domain? did you delete from inside of the public_html directory? there are a few files in there that must be kept as well by the way ..

what image are you trying to get rid of ..

okay, well the image is definitely still up there since it is coming through on the url you just provided ..

try doing this .. make another image, just a plain image, white for colour sake .. make it the same size, 144 x 551, name it header2 then upload that image to your website .. it should overwrite that image .. try that ..

Thank you Ladyeye and your colleagues for all your help. What should have been a simple problem turned in to a nightmare that you and your colleagues managed to sort out.

10/10 for customer service etc
