Please be more specific. Are you getting errors? What is your domain name? Provide as much info as you can to make it easier for someone to help you.
I go to my frontpage 2000 site that I created
select "File", publish "web"
It tells me to specify location
I put in ftp://ftp.mywebsitename.com
select publish all pages
selecting secure doesn't work
then select publish
I enter the name and password that vodahost gave me in an email
things seem to go through
then it completes and says go to my successfully uploaded site
I then get this error
Windows cannot access this folder
220 --welcome
220 -- user 3 of 50...(I've tried a few times now)
220 local time
220 private system
220 disconnet after 15 min
530 private system
does this help in helping me?
Thank you.

oh, my domain name is davinadawnsewing.com
This morning they put a shopping cart in, but did it without my consent, so there is something else there..a sample site...hopefully they will get to removing that by the AM
Its not a shopping cart that will work for my site
Laura
vodahost did. I was asking about it, and I'm sure they were trying to be helpful, but it's not something I can use, or at least need to figure out. Not all my pages have things for sale.
When I go to the domain you mentioned, I get an Index of/ page, but I get no errors.
okay, that is now different. How do I get my page to show up?
Publish a page saved simply as index. All lower case. Note that the page can be named whatever you like, but needs to be saved as index. For most people, this what we use as our home page.
so, instead of typing in what I did, I should include /index at the end?
No no no. The page itself, whatever you're using as your home page should be saved as index.html. Maybe you've already done that. Also, make sure when publishing with Front Page that you're specifying the public_html directory as the destination for the uploaded files.
okay...I just saved that index file as .html silly me...I should have remembered that from when I last put a page together...a few years back. I'm off to try an upload again, but before I do, I just want to be sure I'm typing in the right url...
ftp://ftp.davinadawnsewing.com/public_html
is that right?
okay...now you are going to think I need to go to bed and start in the AM...lol...I'm really sorry. I went to upload my page, but there is no box for ftp. I think I'm missing something here.

1) We would NEVER, EVER, EVER install a shopping cart without
anybodies consent. We are MUCH to busy.....
Even if you asked to install it for you there is 99% chance we would
direct you to the installation tutorial.
2) Please do identifying yourself by account ID or Domain Name.

sorry Recefan, but DDSS2000 was correct, if you are using frontpage, you have to publish your website to ftp://ftp.yourdomain.com/public_html
I'm just going on what the Front Page tutorial says, Nyoman. Thanks for the clarification.Originally Posted by Nyoman
Yes, this did happen, here is the email that confirms that (I removed the name but kept the ticket ID for your reference). I'm not trying to cause alarm, as I am sure he was trying to help. I was trying to figure out how the shopping cart worked, as I was hoping to download a program to test it on the site I am working on before publishing it to the web, but without knowing if I can do that, I am making the assumption that it is not possible. I also assume the shopping cart is something I have to do online. Please note the follow-up I received when I sent an email with my concern that is listed below the following.
But right now, I'm trying to figure out how to upload my site. I'm looking at online help at Google, as Racefan is also helping a great deal.

Hi,
You need to install a patch, I have done this for you, if you
go to your site you will see your shopping cart, you now need
to modify it.

Hi,
We can reset your account if you like, this is the only
way to remove a script installation that has been done
to root.

well, I have the first page up...I did something wrong though, as the other pages did not upload, and the links are not showing up...I think I need to make a different index page that encompasses all the pages I created.
yes it is...thank you so much for your help. Sewing is my thing, programming I have to follow a step-by-step guide, but once I know it, I won't forget it.
I think I need to make a different .html piece to pull everything together...off reading some tutorial I found on google. Again, thank you for your help. Maybe by the end of tonight (Wed) I'll have the full site up and running.
Enjoy!
