Having been unable to work on my site for some months I placed an "UNDER CONSTRUCTION" message at the top. I have now returned to the site, deleted the old site map and created a new one. This has been sent to Google but when I search on the web the old UNDER CONSTRUCTION notice is still there and yet in every respect that index page has been removed. Am I expecting Google to pick it up too soon or what? Thanks in advance for any help. |

Thanks Karen but I have traced the problem. I had made some changes to my index page and there were two files lying in the control panel listing. I had inadvertently deleted the wrong one. I now, when I make changes, save the name with one of the characters in Upper Case so that when I am happy with the page I can go back, identify it, and delete the old one and rename the new. All OK now.
