I received an email stating that I can use a coupon code to get a FREE domain name, but it seems to not be working. The VodaHost Order Wizard says Register - "1 year @ 19.95", Billing Cycle - 12-Months @$95.40, Domain ID Protect - $9.95 yearly, Dedicated IP Address - $3 + set up $30, and Rapid SSL Certificate - $99. When I press the calculate button, it totals out to be $290.30.

That is kind of steep. Do I really need all that is listed above to publish a stunning website with flash banner, contact form, guest book, shopping cart, music upload, and so forth.

What am I doing wrong?

You will need dedicated ip and ssl certificate to process credit cards on site with a merchant account and gateway which is NOT included in the above costs.

The dedicated ip is $3 per month i believe.. if you dont purchase by the year.. Music uploads are questionable.. as that could be considered file sharing of copyrighted material which is against tos on any hosting account. Also.. videos, music files etc can only be used for a part of your hosting, else it looks like a repository.. and that too is against tos

To find out what you are doing wrong on the order part.. theres usually somewhere to add the coupon code as you process out.. to be sure.. contact voda support.
