Thread: Dont know where to begin.

Hello, Can anyone shine a light on my issue.
I have a site and its called kayakfishingaddicts.ning.com/.
My site has grown and its getting even larger. My worries is, since ning is the third party, i am worried that they have all the right to do anything.
How can i separate from ning and still keep all of my members?
I want to have my own site that i have 100% control of and not have to worry with a third party. Can anyone give me some suggestions?
I already own the domain name.

Do you have an email contact for all (or many) of your website users. If so send out a bulk email letting them know your new site name. Then put up a redirect from your current to the new for any users who didn't get the email.

his own URL and not be dependent on NING or someone else.

That won't work in this situation as he doesn't control the domain name that would be transferred.

I assumed that instead of kayakfishingaddicts.ning.com,

he wants to have kayakfishingaddicts.com so that he can have
100% control over domain. He already owns it but under the auspices
of NING.

In similar situations, folks start with, for example,
kayakfishingaddicts.blogspot.com or with wordpress, and then
after sometime they switch to their own independent site keeping
the name intact.
