Thread: a little help please... how do I get the - to work in my url

Hi again guys, you know how when you have the - in your url well that won't work for me. I save the page say as planes in the clouds wouldn't after I publish it it come out as planes-in-the-clouds if so why isn't it working for me I can't give out my url. but a thanks to anyone who will help me fix this problem. oh one more thing I get the 404 error when I try to put in the url

If I understood you correctly,

why don't you save it as planes-in-the-clouds to begin with
and use it to access the page after publishing.

The names must match though.

It works for me.

Whatever you save the page as in BV will be the exact name you type in when you go to the page after you publish. If you saved the file as "planes in the clouds", and you are making your url "planes-in-the-clouds", they are two entirely different names.

The 404 error is page is not found. It won't find "planes-in-the-clouds.html" when you save it in BV as "planes in the clouds".

So if I want it to be planes-in-the-clouds I would have to save it as planes-intheclouds am I right?

If you save the page as planes-in-the-clouds in BV

Then the url will be http://www.mysitename.com/planes-in-the-clouds.html
