Default Need some idiot friendly instructions.

I have been using BV for years and love it; of course.

Just changed computers and I don't recall how to add a second browser for the preview; I know how to bring up the box to add it, but don't know what to put in the name or command boxes.

My default is Firefox and want to make the other IE.

Help appreciated with some step-by-step instructions.

    Thanks in advance.

If IE did not come with your window, then
you can download and install from Microsoft.

Just Google Internet Explorer, find the website
    and download the latest IE.

You can do the same for Google Chrome and other browsers.

IE and Chrome and others have their own instructions.

I have IE and Chrome; it's the boxes I don't know how to complete; that's why I need someone to guide me through what I need to do.

    Thanks.

I must really be a poor communicator because I clearly didn't get my problem across.

I can get into the box to add another browster; what do I type in each box in order to make IE an alternative browser for a preview?

I know the above; let me describe my issue.

When I have the page I'm working on, I go to "File" then down to "Preview in Browser"; from there, I have two choices, "Default Browser," and "Edit Browser List." When I go to "Edit Browser List,", I get a box that allows me to add another browser; when I click "Add" I am given two boxes to fill in to add a browser, one is "Name" and the other is "Command." These are the two boxes I need to fill and don't know what to put (and need help).

Firefox is my main browser but I also have IE and Chrome on my machine; I want to designate IE as the alternative.

    Thanks

Shafi, have u ever seen a system that did not come with IE?

I doubt it, because there is little difference between Internet Explorer and Windows explorer (windows)
Since the days of windows 3.1.1 be4 the days of internet there has been explorer.

Try deleting Explorer off of ur system...impossible.

    * It has always been Microsoft Internet Explorer ... a Microsoft technology "for Windows."

Prior to IE being bundled in computers universally (before MS Windows became the dominant OS, eclipsing MS's earlier DOS and Ap ple's "Windows"- type OS), the prevailing Browser available was NetScape .... which was persistenly flawed and 'out-coded' by Microsoft. AOL's browser was also extremely popular, since they were the largest provider of internet access at the time.

It is NetScape's flawed code upon which Mozilla developed FireFox, and which explains why FireFox inheirited the same basic flaws and still has difficulties displaying websites in "true-view" like the others. This is why when designing websites using Blue Voda it is recommended you "proof" your pages using multiple browsers -- to establish a continuity of layout and viewability.

Unfortunately, because FireFox is distributed as Freeware, it became the leading favorite despite the flaws, and remains popular simply due to early Name recognition. There are other FREE browsers out there, all of which are superior to FireFox, the foremost being Opera, followed by the capable Slimbroswer.

    So now you know ....

In Blue Voda, click on "File >> Preview in Browser >> Edit Browser List >> Add" then follow the path to your program folder in c:\program files....
