Thread: Sitemap Crawler not picking up pages

I have made some new pages to my website and so I went to start the sitemap crawler and it did not pickup the new pages I have made and published. Can you tell me why this is? Should it pick them up?

Yes. There are several TEXT links on the new pages themselves. The index page has a menu with a link going to these new pages, but (on purpose) there is no link on the new pages that goes back to the index page.

You need links that the SE can read from the index page to the rest of the pages. If you dont do this in a text menu or text links in the information body of the page, how do u want it to be found?

I am wanting a very generic page that is not personal in any way (no names etc.). I am going to market the page with good SEO hopefully. I don't mind viewers of the index page finding the new page I am speaking of but I don't really want the viewers of the new pages finding the more personal site. Hope that makes sense. There is the page (4 new pages all together) that the sitemap crawler is not finding for some reason.

Do you mean an external sitemap crawler or the internal BV sitemap builder tool ?

The BV sitemap tool. I have figured it out, though I don't know how. I redid my text menu and actually did away with it as I had not completed all the pages for those links. Anyway, thanks for the help. I still can't understand why it didn't pick those pages up when I had a link on all my pages going to the new pages I made??? Main thing is it worked last night and it is done!
