Thread: To Karen Mac, sub folders

Hi Karen, A few days ago I asked about sending pages to another person for their approval. You suggested publishing to a sub folder. I tried that as it seemed a good idea and have made it work before. But not this time.

my main web address is www.airpurificationforhome.com at the bottom of the page I put a button called "Isaiah" this button was supposed to go to www.isaiah5812.org/certpage.html. however it doesn't work.

Do I publish the Isaiah page to my air folders? The Isaiah page is not active yet on its own domain. Do I rename it as an air page so the web addresses are the same?

Can you help. what am I missing?

Well a folder is different than a file.. you link to it differently

so

www.airpurificationforhome.com/isaiah5812/certpage.html

If you made a addon doman isaiah5812.org you would also have to create it in your cpanel and then point the domain name to your server to make it show up.

If you made a subdomain it would be
www.isaiah5812.airpurificationforhome.com/certpage.html

in this case you just published a page and not to a subfolder

OK Karen, I am evidently brain dead today. What is the easiest to do as this is only till I get the domain name transfered. and HOW do I do it?

Well your friend needs his own account. You cant host it for him.

Its fine the way it is he can see his page.

If you want to make a folder, go to cpanel, file manager, addfolder and name it.

He has his own account, just set it up. I will be building it. I am building pages while I wait for everything to clear and get setup. I click on the button and his page doesn't show up. It goes to a website suggestion page.

ANy suggestions? If I run it as a button on my site, do I have to have it under my Domain name? or can it be under his and be treated as an external link?

Im confused as to what you are doing? If its his domain and he has an account just publish it to HIS account.

He has an account but the Domain DNS has not been transfered yet. We are waiting for the old company to get it done.
He wants to see some pages before that. I did it before by adding a button to my page and letting them click of that but it doesn't work now. I am not setting it right. Sorry for confusion.

If I want to set up a sales page, should I bring on soholaunch or will voda have enough tools to do a good job?

depends on what you are selling and how many items you are selling.. one or two blue voda works just fine

We will be selling many books and cds and Dvds and such.
Can I use Soholaunch in the same account as blue voda?
I seem to remember that I can use it on the sales page only.

or is it better to set up a seperate account for the sales web?
It seems things might get a little harry with 2 on one account.

no.. just make a addon domain for soholaunch to be installed to..then link your bv pages to the soho store.
