Thread: Page looks ok -- until I publish

Hey everyone,

I am trying to build a blue voda website for my spouse at www.gentlebirthingcapecod.com . When working on the first page in my computer, it looks very nice. When I publish it, then go on line to look at it, it is just a bunch of links, with no visuals or text at all, although apparently if you click each one of them you can see that component of the page. I have my own website thru blue voda, but I only do simple changes -- a friend actually built it for me. So I am thinking that I'm missing some basic steps. Can't seem to locate them in the videos, though.

Please give any feedback in newbie-friendly language.

are you publishing ALL FILES? this way all your images etc will be published and not just what you changed about since you last saved it.

Yes, it definately says "all files"...under folder it says public_html

Is that correct? Should it say index, or something else??

no... thats correct, but you arent publishing an 'index' page.

you have Index .. it should be all lower case.

ummm... not sure what you mean, here. I thought my first page, from which the other pages can be reached, was to be called index.....that's the one I am trying to publish.

Your first page in BV should be saved as 'index' all lower case. Then publish it

If you look at your bunch of files you have an index page but it has a capital I in Index doesnt it?
