Can't publish Site Map to Google

My web site is porteryorkies.com I am going to tools - sitemap - start crawler then publish sitemap. Then when I go to the page that told me what to do and click..."click here" to publish it to google it gives me this error..........The page - www.google.com/webmasters/tour/tour1.html - does not exist.

How can I publish the site to google?

You dont publish the site to google. You simply list in webmaster tools at google.com where the site map is.

When you publish you are simply publishing to your account.

www.porteryorkies.com/sitemap.xml

That would be the link you give to google.

I went to google and hit add a site . I tried to add the link you said but it told me it was not a url. I put in porteryorkies and then it told me to do the following...
Copy the meta tag below, and paste it into your site's home page. It should go in the <head> section, before the first <body> section.

I copied the tag and tried to paste it directly onto my index page. I couldn't. I can't get verified could you please help me again...sorry.

right click on the index page, choose page html and paste it between the head tags.

thanks..I did that and it was verified but it said it was not indexed. What does that mean?
I again tried to use the link you gave me....www.porteryorkies.com/sitemap.xml
but it still wouldn't let me. I had to use www.porteryorkies.com
is that going to be a problem?

Another thing am I supposed to add the meta tag between the heads on each page of my site?

you cant PUBLISH TO GOOGLE. You would have to FTP TO GOOGLE using the directions they give you. You would then FIND the sitemap in your BV folder and upload it.

You LOGIN TO GOOGLE and then give them that link to VERIFY YOUR SITE under google webmaster tools add a site map.
