Thread: updating to newer phpbb version

I have downloaded the latest update package from phpbb so that i can update my forum (which is an older version). I have ftp the install folder over to my forum folder but now i get the following message in my forum:

Please delete, move or rename the install directory before you use your board. If this directory is still present, only the Administration Control Panel (ACP) will be accessible.

I do not want my current template to change during the update so can someone help me get my forum back to normal again.

I don't use phpBB but once you install a forum you must remove the install folder as a very important security measure.
