Thread: does vodahost allow this? having problem making news section

i have a news system that requires the files to be chmoded to 777 is that acceptable or do u guys not allow it? my site is http://www.altereddreamz.com

Yes, you can changemod the folder of your script to 777. But, please note that this might cause security issues. Your script SHOULD be able to treat these security issues (meaning that, it can change permissions to 777 to allow for posting or editing, and then turn them back to 755).

Please note that if a script creates security issues for the server, it might be deleted. VH cannot afford jepardising all the other customers sites / accounts being hacked because of an unsecure script that you might want to install.
