    Default Website Fonts

    Greetings all:

If I have a font called ReservoirGrunge on my site and of course its on my computer. Right now I have Windows 7 64-bit, and I had to install this font from my laptop with Vista.

So when a vistor shows up to my site and he doesn't have the font on his computer, will it show up correctly? If not, how do I give it to him without him knowing it, so he can see it? (BTW, I think it came with Vista, but I don't remember for sure)

    Thanks, in Christ, Shawn

    Hey Shawn,
If a visitor to your site does NOT have that particular font on his/her computer they will not be able to read it.
I sometimes use non "web-friendly" fonts & my way round is to publish the text as an image. (1 drawback: it can then only be edited as an image...but for me that's OK )

Never measure the height of the mountain you're climbing. At the summit, look back and see how small it really is!

You have the facility to change your text into an image with BV, thus enabling the use of any font. But be warned! The SE's cant read images, so if you need to help your rankings, only use this facility for page headings & alike. It will also slow the page loading down slightly being that it is now an image.

I would recommend using Arial, Helvetica (which is the version of Arial) or Verdana. Sans-serif fonts look better aliased and are easier to read on the internet generally. That's what they were designed with in mind. For regular text you can use these font at size 9 - 12.
A quick note about installing fonts.

    Thanks for any ideas, cheers.

Think the reason for suggesting the image was that Reservoir Grunge is not a web safe font.

    I mean use both -
use the font that can't be read by other' computers as IMAGE and
another transparent font to be read for SE.

if the transparent font read the same as the font in image.
    I think, it won't be considered " A Bad Guy "
    What you think?

I think that it's borderline. Why take the chance? It's not that important. Use the name somewhere in the text body and assign an h1 tag to it.
