that is usually due to an open html tag that was left outside the html tags, for example:
    <h1> heading</h1>>

well my question would be how did it get there. did you re write any html code for this page? is this in a html box? if so it would be easy to find.

From what I see, it is part of the image itself!

I checked your page info (I'm using Firefox) and the image is your background. Clicking on the link to that image shows that the > is NOT present in that image. There for it is in the script or whatever.
My advice would be to OPEN the file copy page in your BlueVoda and CLICK around that area of your page. See if there is any "boxes" that appear. e.g. a text box or a HTML box or something where you you might not have noticed it was still a part of your page.
If that's the case, the solution just requires you to DELETE the box where it is contained, save the page and then publish again.

The only HTML box, as you can see, is the freefind search box........any more ideas??
BTW this only recently popped up, so that means it has nothing to do with the background image which has been there forever :)

Meanderer: you are right, I confused the demo for the actual page.

Ahimsa: you have a > AFTER the closing > tag of the freefind script, line 320 of your page html. So it is interpreted as a output to the browser.

So I checked both the HTML for the page & the HTML for the freefind box....I must be blind cause I can't see what you refer to.....at the end is:

<!-- end of freefind search box html --> (freefind)

    and

    books</i></b></font></div>
    </body>
    </html> (page HTML)

    ??

You have added the freefind code in the Inside Body Tag of the page HTML ?

If yes, remove it. Add a html box in your page, and paste the code in there.

I was going to post the same as Chris, but I was only copying from the Page Source info direct from the web. You need to go back to what George last said.
i.e. Open your BlueVoda file for the page. Make sure you have the necessary code for the Freefind script on hand. Totally remove the old Freefind from your page.
    Go to INSERT>Advanced>HTML
A Box will appear on your page. Drag it to the position where you want the Freefind and paste the script inside that box. Don't worry about resizing to fit the text. The TOP-LEFT corner of the box is the reference point that the script begin showing on the page when operating. (Good practice to make the box size to represent the final size on page so that your work area reflects that area as occupied.)

    Hi Meanderer,
many thanks for the instructions & your time............it didn't work!!

So, again many thanks to George, Chris & co for your time & trouble.....what I eventually did was create a new page, copying all the relevant items EXCEPT the freefind box. Then I installed the freefind as per instructions in its own HTML box &......................
Everything is now just fine LOL,
    have a good evening,
