    Default Domain Character Limits?

    Hi,
I was just attempting an "AddOn" Domain in C-Panel. Kept coming up with an error for the "Subdomain/Ftp Username:" field.
ERROR... (That is not a valid Subdomain/FTP username.)

So tried another just to see if there was some universal problem. There isn't. Started shortening the domain name, letter by letter, and it finally accepted it at 25 characters. Mine is 5 more than that. Already bought the Domain name of 30 letters.

Can someone verify there are limits, or if there is any way around this?

    Thank you,
    Ted

    Default Re: Domain Character Limits?

    Well... I figured it out.
I assumed that Username field had to be exactly the same as the Addon Domain name. So I shortened to 25 characters, and it accepted the Addon Domain Name. Really didn't think that would work.

I was then able to publish the full 30 character Domain name.
Didn't think that would work either. Whew!

I would assume if it were a Subdomain, I wouldn't be able to go above the 25 characters.
    Cheers all,
    Ted
