    Default The Privacy Policy Email

    I just read the email link about the privacy policy, and I sure do appreciate the heads up.

    Regarding the critical nature of emailing this link; there is one question I have that was not answered in the link; or I missed it, and apologize in advance.

    The question revolves around this: when I place a privacy policy in my website and publish it, does it have to be named "/privacy_policy.html" to get recognized as such, and to avoid being penalized?

    Currently I have my terms of agreement for website usage labeled as "/you_and_our_website.html"

    What is your suggestion? I do not want to think I have a privacy policy, yet have GOOGLE think otherwise and do whatever GOOGLE pleases, and hence penalize me unawares! I want to be a good and cooperative citizen! LOL

    Thank you kindly,

    John

    name your page in BV as "privacy_policy" only and publish to your site.

    "you and our website" is definately not the way to name.

    Thank you kindly, zuriatman. I am on it now. I will then delete my mis-named page, and submit to GOOGLE for the removal of my mis-named page after it goes "404".

    That's a lot of renaming of links, but... oh well. We want to keep GOOGLE happy.

    Just curious;
    Is this info just now being broadcast by GOOGLE?
    Is there a time limit to make the additions / corrections / deletions, or has this been policy for some time and we may have already been penalized unknowingly?
    How was this discovered? A link?

    Either way, I am grateful to BV for passing on the information! Better late than never.
