    Default Question on firefox

    Hi there,

I just asked someone to take a look at my website and i got this message back.

Your site doesn't display properly in Firefox 1.07.

The images on the cd & tapes page and the self help books page are misplaced and cover some text up !!

As a bit of a newbie, i just wondered if this was a major problem and what i could do to rectify this?
    Thanks very much

Hi Paul, It could just be down to how their screen resolution is set. After reading many posts on the subject I think basically - you can't please all of the people all of the time - so the best you can do is please the majority which you are probably doing ok at.

Thank you both of you for your time.
I will leave it then, i just wanted to check, being new to this i suppose i get paranoid easier than others. As long as it is not a major problem thats fine.
    Thank you

Well seems others are having problems now i have asked around.
I have been given the following advice but not quite sure what i need to do as i am very new to all this.
Your problem lies as UK_Site_Builder points out with your design.

Layers tend to cause a great deal of problems with a number of browsers.

I used to teach web site design and always used tables for the layout, this permitted better control over how the pages displayed is different browsers and different screen resolutions.

A further tip is to avoid fixed font sizes and to use default size with +2 for anything that you want to be displayed two points above the viewers default font size.

Would this be quite easy to do?

    Thanks again

    Hey,

Do not forget to start thinking of IE7 users. People have different settings on there and your site may look bigger sometimes etc.
    Best regards,
