Thread: I want to add a site I am building. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, Cynthia is my name, germansg. I want to add a new site I am building. I wanted to test it as a sub domain, I don't want to just link it as other pages to my existing online site. I added the folder to the FTP, uploaded the files to public_html in File manager. It said successful upload. I thought it would use my www.metoyu.com as the path for publishing. I know I am doing something wrong. I want this site to appear as a seperate entity from www.metoyu.com. , How do I create it as a sub Domain? I have already created another folder in my files for this new site (victorian_secrets) and made sure that there are not repeat files like index. I listed the Home page in my files as "victorian_secrets.index". Is that correct? Do I have to have another url address? I do have another Domain that I have not yet used. I looked for a tutorial on creating a sub domain, probably overlooked it. Hope to hear from someone soon.

I don't think that is the answer I am looking for. As I stated in my forum request, I do have a Domain name that I have not yet used. I know that there is a way to make a subdomain to an existing account. I want to know how. Thanks though for the suggestion. If I have to, I will use my other Domain name, but, I want to find out first if there is another way to use my existing url without it showing up in the new sites address.

If you want it to be a stand alone, you're better off adding it as an addon domain in your Cpanel.

Thank you, I guess I will have to do that. So I guess I will have to remove all the files for that site that I uploaded, correct? Then add the new domain and upload again?

I don't mind that it has the metoyu.com url on it, but can I do it to where it shows the new site Title and if I can how?

I have a second site setup in a sub directory called sales.
The url for this second site is
sales.mvpalma1.com. (mvpalma1.com=my first site)
Is this what you are trying to do ??
