I doubt its possible to stop unauthorized linking, you can't control what others do on their own. I always ask permission , don't want trouble from any one.

It's considered an honor for people to link to your site - and that's considered a good thing for them to do. Now, if they want to steal any of your info - that's another story!
I know what you mean about unauthorised links, I got a request from 'Lucky Cigars' via a link exchange - said 'no thanks', but they went ahead anyway! Didn't think there was much in common with a horse riding site, but they send a couple of visitors my way each month. Not worth bothering about.
If you really don't want someone to link to you all you can do is write and ask them to remove the link.
Cheers
If people are linking to your images you can stop that.
With a php script, you can have it check the previous page a visitor was on, and if it was from a site you add to a list of unwanted sites linking to you, you can redirect them to google or something.
Hi all,
Thanks for replying... your right it should be an honour when someone wants to link to us... just concerned that people may assume we are affiliated with those linking to us.

your visitors aren't going to even know those people linked to you - they only see who you link to. That's where you want to keep your professionalism and keep out the dead wood.
Check out the hot link protection facility in your Cpanel
There is a list in your Awstats page of other sites linked to your site... if you really wanted to you could go through that list and contact each site individually and ask them not to link up.
Thanks David.... I will check it out!
