adding cart

Hi,

Being a complete novice ( 5 days) i have made some progress as you can see with my site but need some info to how to install a cart and how to use the database needed, i have downloaded osCommerce (although i'm not bothered which product to use as i don't know which is the best/easiest/user friendl) and have the files on my file manager but don't know what to do next. Is this something that with my knowledge will be able to do?

In your control panel click fantastico > oscommerce. we have
oscommerce prloaded on the server and it will self install

after installing os commerce my home page ".index.html" won't load
after looking in cpanel my home page has a load of numbers after it i.e.
".index.html.111928****" (didn't know if these numbers are sensitive so left some blank)

is this normal or the cause of it?

did u install os commerce in its own directory? Or did u let it override your
home page.

don't worry... i unistalled it, republished my index page and reinstall and is all ok now! just my luck i'm having! (but i'm getting there!!!!!!)

Ummm. sorry to be a pain, but my links won't work and I can't seem to figure out how to,ummmmmmmmm............. really, add a way for people too be able to chat and post forums and do interactive things and I need a way to be able to put music and featured pointers and all the stuff to make a great web-site. Can you help me? PLEEEEEEEEEASE????
