Question Sub domain pictures not showing

    Hi

This would be my dilemma #1 for the day. I've been trying to do everything humanly possiblle to get the pictures to work on my new subdomain. Everything is published in the corrct folder etc., I've made sure all pictures are linked to the right page and previewed everythign...and it shows in the preview...but it's still not working after publishing and checking. I know that member spc was having similar problem so I was wondering if this was just a 'wait for a couple of days' and it will work sort of a problem. Any clues as to what's up from anyone...would be great. Subdomain is http://www.beezkidzworld.beezworld.com

    Thanks

    Hi Bee,
When I've experienced similar problems to this it has been when I have accidentally moved images in between publishing. If you've checked that then I'm a little stumped. I don't know why this could be happening. I thought it may have been cache but I can't see your images either.

Red face Re: Sub domain pictures not showing

    Hey Amanda,

As usual I've managed to start my day with an electronic adventure. I'm having the problem only with my sub-domain. I've added things on my main site and no problems. Should I have all the pics associated with my sub-domain in the main public_html area instead of in the sub file (they automatically go there when I publish)....I've double checked all the links and republished all the files to the sub folder but still nothing....

clueless as usual am I ...so I hope someone out there has got the answer...:)

Has it been 72hours since you've created the subdomian?

If it has then you can try going to cpanel in the File Manager delete all the pics from the subdomian folder and republish the page

    Hi Sadain,

It's been over 72 hours and I tried what you said and eliminated All pics in sub folder and republished but still same problem. I know it's going to be something foolish that I'v3 done and boy am I going to feel sheepish when that happens...thanks for trying...if you got any other ideas...I sure would love to hear them.

Go to your File Manager in the Cpanel and then click on public_html folder then your subdomian folder then click on one of the pics in that folder and on the right hand side of the window you should see a set of tools for the pic click on show file nd see if its allright there...

If not delete all the pics in that file and trash them then republish your subdomian index

The following image bv01102_over.gif has the following Address (url) value
    www.beezkidzworld.beezworld.com/bv01102_over.gif
Using the cpanel file manager see where this image file is located and post the result

Your page html for this picture is:

    Code:

    <TD align="left" valign="top" width="118" height="30"><A href="<A href="http://www.beezkidzworld.beezworld.com"><img/">http://www.beezkidzworld.beezworld.com"><IMG id="bv01136" src="bv01136.gif" alt="http://www.beezkidzworld.beezworld.com" align="top" border="0" width="118" height="30" onmouseover="SwapImage(1,0,'bv01136','bv01136_over.gif')" onmouseout="SwapImage(0,0,'bv01136','bv01136.gif')"></A></TD>
The "scr= tag" points to the subdomain folder. The easiest and most immediate solution would be to copy all used images to subdomain folder.
The correct "scr=" syntax should be scr="../bv0113.gif" as this points to the main domain relative root folder where the image physically resides.
Changing all paths in page requires edit html file from the server and not in the Blue Voda program.

What are your subdomain CHMOD/properties settings. You can see this value in the cpanel/File Manager

    It should be 755

If you have all the files in Blue Voda (check by doing page preview) then, I suggest that you delete all files in the public_html/beezkidzworld/ folder.
Save file in Blue Voda as index.html and then publish to

    public_html/beezkidzworld/

let me know how you get on

Ok ...deleted the whole beezkidzworld file and created a new one in public_html and then re published everything but still the same problem. I don't suppose you got any more ideas up your sleeve? I think I'll leave it for now and try again later. Thanks for all the efforts and my 'duh' moments :)

The problem appears to be this

    <script language='javascript' src='http://127.0.0.1:1025/js.cgi?pa&r=7129'></script>

It works on your main domain but not on your subdomain. Did you upload any javascript files onto your main domain if so copy the file to subdomain

It appears to be a stats counter script call .Remove it or include the js file in domain structure as it interferes with image rollover scripts being used by your subdomain

Did you start the subdomain page from scratch or did you use the domain page with edits and save as ?

If you used domain page then look at the page html screen to see if you included any javascripts

I have no idea on the whole scrip thing...I'll go look at my original and see if that is how it is in the others. Also I noticed that the script seems to be carrying certain htmls that I had originally used but edited later...eg. I used artspage.html but changed it to artz.html...could that be causing problems?

Ok checked the spaces between gifs but it must be the posting causing that because they look fine in both my index html dialog boxes. Thank god...I was not looking forward to having to fix each one of those.

    Just offering suggestions...

Try building the site from scratch with a new BlueVoda file they might work... I'm really not sure whats causing the problem but I had a similar incident and had to recreate the subdomian to fix the problem I dont know why

I eliminated file from public_html. Recreated the whole file again and even deleted the subdomain and added it again. At wits end now and well...I'm looking to the gods for help now. I guess I'll submit a ticket to the vodahost folks....i know should have done that while I was checking here too....

If anyone has got anything else they can think of...I open to all suggestions..no matter how crazy they sound...just remember to put in simple language ...'explain it to me like I'm a four year old'...thanks

    one last suggestion,

Take from a blank untitled BlueVoda file and put one piece at a time on the page. Like one pic then publish the next pic then publich then the bttons then publish do each piece like that until the site goes into ruins then you might just find a single piece of evidence as to why

Then after find piece delete from the cpanel folders it and dont publish that corrupt picture agian

actualy all your file are there, if you load through http://www.beezworld.com/beezkidzworld you will see them but you can not view through http://www.beezkidzworld.beezworld.com, and that is the mystery.I don't know if you have tried this:
delete all the file on beezkidzworld directory include the beezkidzworld folder itself, then delete also the subdomain beezkidzworld in contol panel and now create again this sub domain and re publish your page. and see if this is working, if not i have no idea other than suggest you to contact support.

    Hi Boybali & Navaldesign,

Thank you both for shedding some insight on the situation. I did try eliminating file and doing all you suggested and still same problem. Major general navaldesign I had actually asked Voda support for help and would lile to give them a chance to solve problem and if not I will definitely take you up on your offer of help. I at least can see what my site looks like ...grazie to you both.

Ciao ..(the only little italian I know)

I just wanted to report that the support team took care of my problem and my sub is now working. For those interested apparently it was not working becuase I did not put it in hotlink protection. I think a nice tutorial on not only adding a subdomain but how to save your sub-domain files in a seperate folder in public_html and hotlink protecting it would be great for us techie challenged people. Thanks to all who helped and tried to help me through my woes.
