Thread: cannot view my site

I have my account now IP: 74.52.42.242. I have used my ftp program in Namo Web Editor to transfer all the files to the public_html folder, just as they are at my old host. I have not transferred my domain name yet.
When I open IP: 74.52.42.242 i get a page saying there is no website configured for this address. how can I look at my sebsite at vodahost? I do not want to transfer the domain until I know the site is working with vodahost

You don't have to transfer, but you do at least have to point your dns to your VodaHost server. Click here: http://www.vodahost.com/tut_dns.htm

Please note that the IP address is that of all the sites hosted on that server, so opening IP 74.52.42.242 will NOT show up YOUR site. Follow Race's suggestion, if you haven't done that yet, and make sure that your homepage is called "index", as this is the ONLY way for your site to come up.

none of my java script menu is showing uo, none of my pictures are showing up, they work perfectly well at my old server at www.marvinchurch.com
All files were moved to vodahost.
Why aren't they showing on vodahost?

It looks like you still need to upload the pictures that your javascripts are referencing to a folder called index_files in your public_html folder, as the images are not there, the javascript is not functioning.

Once you fix that, all will work!

Now I am really confused.

the map is a jpeg and is in http://74.52.42.242/%7Eottujpia/pics/map.jpg

without it being in Eottujpia

well I have fixed that problem by resaving under a different name. I really don't understand why it didn't work before. but it does work now. I am sure I will continue to need help with this. Can I keep this thread open, or should I open a new thread when the next problem crops up?
