    Hi everyone,

    Daleside here, www.kiwi-pride-labradoodles.com

I have published my site and it seems to be running smoothly, touch wood! However I have noticed that i am getting zero traffic, or to date 18 hits in a week( 10 of those are my husband!! and 4 people I knowha ha)

I submitted my URL to some of the major search engines and I know that they may take a week or two to update so I downloaded a programme called Webposition 4, I did a search on my web site to see how it is performing and all results came back at "0", No header No titles no nothing. I put in my metatags and have studied BV tutorials and also read up on key metatag words so that my pages have relevant information on them by making them relevent to my site.So I think it has to be to do with my HTML content??

1/ How do I go into HTML and fix this problem, seemingly the search engines are picking up nothing?? I have to manually type in my URL and I can't do a search off of any of the big engines etc..

I do hope someone knows what to do??

    Cheers Jody

    Hi daleside,

The 1st thing you might want to do is to give your home page a TITLE....
(right click on page and select Properties.)

The 2nd thing I noticed was that your DESCRIPTION was too long....
try cutting it down and use key phrases contained in your TITLE and
    page contents.....

    btw: I Liked the dogs................

Hi David, Thanks for the reply. I created a whole new index yesterday as I s****ped the last one incase I had done something wrong, I missed the name of page though, silly me. How do you get to see the description of my page?? Thanks for your time and thanks for you kind words about the doggies, at least I have another visitor to my site, even though I asked for it ha ha!

Is there a need to go to html in bv and add anything? and also I created my background with my photo's on it in my digital microsoft programme and ran it through the pix downsizer, could it be that it is fixed as one whole thing, ie I note that when you put your mouse over the page you can't pick up an individual photo as it is fixed and some of the text I did as well. Am I showing my lack of knowledge here?? Am I supposed to create the whole thing in bv?? (My heading or logo is on the same background too, is this something to change?)

    Thanks everyone Jody

If you right click on the page - then click view source - it shows your source code - or in IE - you can click on View on the top bar, then source.

Make sure you have a good title - with your keywords used - on each page - as well as an accurate description of each page. You need to have your pages optimized for your keywords (and each page should be working towards different keywords/keyword phrases. You also need to have links back to your site - with good anchor text (anchor text are the words that are clickable to get to your site. So, for example, on my site, A Child's Palace - I would most likely use something like "kids theme bedroom decor" as my anchor text - cuz that's more likely to be used to search to find me.

    Hi Bether's,

I will take a look in the next 24 hours and check all of my headings and keywords, as I think that is most likely my problem. Thanks for your help much appreciated.

Do I need to re-do my pages in BV, or am okay bringing in complete files from my digital microsoft editing programme. ie: I have done my logo and background and photo's and some text there and then saved , re pixed them and then opened in BV ,to then add a few more items and then publish. Do I need to re-arrange this?

cheers from a warm sunny winter's day in New Zealand, Jody
