    Default Confused about wepepage loading

I notice that when I go to other pages, my such as this forum, the browser waites until everything is loaded to appear. I was wondering if someone could show me how to make my home page appear all at once instead of appearing one fragment at a time. I understand I might have too much info on the home page, but I rather the page take 5 seconds to load while the viewer sees a blank screen, then they see it all at once, instead of the viewer watching all the fragments that i used to build it. Thank you for any help. Greg

Only an idea! But you could change the way your page appears in page properties & use the transitions tab. I found the same thing with some of my pages & this covered up some heavier pages loading a little more nicely. You can also set the time the transition takes.

I'm not seeing any delay, broadband. did you add images to images or use backgrounds ?

I do notice that in Firefox "Rochester" at top drops under the line. No problem in IE6.

Might want to retitle your pages. Example change your "home" page to Rochester Swimming.

    Good luck

Have you resized your pics with pix resizer or some such program ...this will making loading faster...also I'm using netscape 8.1 and I noticed a menu bar on your main heading area is not showing clearly ..I think it is what Bill was referring to as well. Also I noticed your homepage is home.html and not index.html as BV says to do in the tutorial. I'm wondering if this could be part of the slowness...although it's probably not...

Good job so far and good site.

The speed at which your webpage loads is all down to the speed of your
internet connection and the size of the contents on your page.
