Thread: running side by side

hi i recently installed os com from you guys and bought a ssl cert etc .
i was just wondering that if i wes to install a different version of os comm can i load it to my server and run it in the background to test it out while my original is running for example my web is www.mydomain/store but can download the other os comm as www.mydomain/catalog so really my question is if i do upload the a more advanced os comm via ftp will it interefere with the database of my other site or so in laymans terms i will have my live os comm working as normall under 'store' and my new test store will be under 'catalog' its just that im curious that if i loaded catalogu via ftp even though it has different foldr name would if copy over my store folder

If you upload the oscommerce with a different foldername then your current store, it will not overwrite the old folder.
