hi, i originally had 1 proper index page BUT i needed to make an opening page, so what i did was renamed my ORIGINAL index page as " fear ". but the problem is when i go to my website (Untitled Page) it comes up with the "fear" section (which was my first index page, i want this URL to be www.thetafsquad.com/fear.html ) BUT if you go to (Untitled Page) it comes up with the opening page (which is what i want Untitled Page to come up with). if you dont understand a thing ive said just ask me again (im not very good at explaining things). |

Post the urls for both pages so we might have looksee and go from there... It sounds like you just need to rename the page you want as your first page index.html and the other page with whatever name you want. Also go to your cpanel and delete the page you don't want before publishing again. You probably will find to index pages in the public_html folder. Check it out and see if that works, if not we can try soemthing else. bzz

This is now your home/index page Untitled Page or Untitled Page which reads, Tactical Assault Force. you should now place a link on the above page to: http://www.thetafsquad.com/fear.html which then links to all your other pages It would also appear that you have several sub-directories !!! Have I got the above the right way round ? if not, try to explain what you are trying to achieve a little better please. Post back for more advice.......... |

I would delete all html files from the public_html and republish the way you want them...with the www.thetafsquad.com/index.html as your index and allothers according to what you name them -example-www.thetafsquad.com/page2.html Try that and see if it works...if not then you might try submitting a support ticket to see what's up... bzzz

First: You can't direct Untitled Page to www.tafsquad.com/index.html. The reason is simply because the server sees both those 2 pages as one and the same.. By default, when someone types in www.tafsquad.com, the server takes them to the index page of that domain.. So, in effect, you are directing a page to itself. Secondly: what is the name of the page you call: www.tafsquad.com..?? You say that they are both 2 different pages, we know one is called index, whats the other one..?? It must have a name which it is saved and uploaded under. If I understand you correctly, you want someone to type in www.tafsquad.com and for a page (different to tafsquad.com/index.html) to come up.. If thats the case then no dramas, all you have to do is rename the index page to whatever name, and give the name index to the page you want to appear when someone types in www.tafsquad.com. You can rename these pages without having to take them off the server, you can do it from CPanel. or if you are using FTP just right click on the page (file) and rename. If I misunderstood, I am sorry, but if this is not what the problem is, please be more specific, you can call your pages 1 and 2 and 3... and so on... give a scenario of what is happening and what you want to happen and that is the best way to outline a problem.. I know it's frustrating because you feel no one understand what you are trying to say, but we will eventually be able to sort it out for ya.. so hang in there buddy.. Consider what I suggested above and please let us know the progress. Cheers. |
