Wink Newbie Q: Unable to view my storefront in Zencart

Hi All

I have loaded zencart to my vodahost website (www.protectonedge.com) and I am unable to view my store front when I log onto the site. The default index is only visible and I have to click on the my store folder to access the storefront. Please could somebody tell me how to redirect my storefront to open when you type in the domain name. Thanks. I know this is more than likely a very basic "problem", but it has had me stumped for a few days now.

All help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to BV!

The way the server works is that the main page of your website has to be named "index" and here is the reason why. The server is set up so that when ever anyone in the world types in; http: //www.protectonedge.com
the "index" page is automatically brought up. That way- no one has to type in http: //www.protectonedge.com/index.html

So this is what you have to correct on your site. You need an "index" page. The first page you want people to see- make sure that is your "index" page.

In your case- I would remove the store folder and simply place the "index" page in the public_html folder.

Hope that helps ya!

Andy

Thanks Andy

I will give that a try and hopefully finally come right with it. I'm on a steep learning curve here. I suppose the old saying is true: "If at first you don't succeed, then try, try, try again!"
